Apenas en 1992 fue planteada por primera vez, por lo que es relativamente reciente. Sin embargo, es un<strong> problema al que cualquier mujer atleta puede estar expuesta.<\/strong> Si bien es cierto que el deporte tiene grandes factores positivos para la salud, tanto f\u00edsica como mental, a nivel competitivo se puede encontrar la otra cara de la moneda. Estos en ocasiones pueden potenciar el <strong>desarrollo de trastornos de la conducta alimentaria<\/strong> y como consecuencia otros <strong>problemas en la salud de la atleta<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es tanto el compromiso que tienen las atletas a nivel competitivo por ser las mejores y ganar medallas, que son <strong>presionadas a cumplir con ciertos est\u00e1ndares.<\/strong> Buscan a como d\u00e9 lugar la culminaci\u00f3n de dichos objetivos, dejando de lado algunos factores sumamente importantes en el desarrollo de un atleta (como lo son la alimentaci\u00f3n, los periodos de descanso, etc.). Sin embargo, para algunas mujeres \u2014especialmente atletas a nivel competitivo\u2014 sucede que <strong>no logran encontrar el balance de las necesidades de su cuerpo y las de su deporte<\/strong>. Esto trae grandes consecuencias, entre ellas la \u201ctr\u00edada de la atleta femenina\u201d. Pr\u00e1cticamente cualquier mujer deportista puede estar en riesgo de sufrir alguno de los componentes de la tr\u00edada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La tr\u00edada de la atleta femenina es la combinaci\u00f3n de tres condiciones: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>&#8211; <strong>Deficiencia de energ\u00eda<\/strong> causada por h\u00e1bitos alimenticios no saludables o ejercicio excesivo.<\/li><li>&#8211; <strong>Amenorrea<\/strong> (ausencia de la menstruaci\u00f3n o ciclos menstruales muy irregulares).<\/li><li>&#8211; <strong>Osteoporosis<\/strong> (debilitamiento de los huesos debido a una p\u00e9rdida de densidad y una formaci\u00f3n \u00f3sea incorrecta). <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Una atleta puede tener una, dos o tres partes de la tr\u00edada.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"906\" src=\"https:\/\/journey.app\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Tri\u0301ada-de-la-atleta-femenina.png\" alt=\"Componentes de la tr\u00edada de la atleta femenina.\" class=\"wp-image-4922\" srcset=\"https:\/\/journey.app\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Tri\u0301ada-de-la-atleta-femenina.png 1000w, https:\/\/journey.app\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Tri\u0301ada-de-la-atleta-femenina-300x272.png 300w, https:\/\/journey.app\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Tri\u0301ada-de-la-atleta-femenina-768x696.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Fuente: Ulloa, J (2017).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Por ejemplo, cuando la ingesta energ\u00e9tica de una atleta es inadecuada para cubrir el gasto energ\u00e9tico, el ciclo reproductivo puede verse afectado y, posteriormente, la salud \u00f3sea. Algunas atletas pueden responder a la presi\u00f3n para alcanzar niveles de grasa corporal o peso poco realistas, con una dieta excesiva (anorexia o bulimia nerviosas) y\/o ejercicio excesivo (dismorfia muscular). Esto genera un impacto tan grande que <strong>se ve afectado su desempe\u00f1o deportivo, su salud f\u00edsica y mental y sus relaciones interpersonales <\/strong>(con sus padres, entrenadores y personas involucradas en su desarrollo como atleta).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"La-triada-gana-visibilidad\">La tr\u00edada gana visibilidad<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Healthy Body Image # 3 - Anezka Ruzicka - Gymnastics\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Pl2P9VVv6oE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En 2010 el Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Internacional cre\u00f3 una campa\u00f1a llamada, <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.olympic.org\/hbi\">\u201cHungry for Gold\u201d<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. A trav\u00e9s de videos educacionales, abordaron diferentes disciplinas con las vivencias de atletas de dichos deportes y c\u00f3mo sobrevivieron a la tr\u00edada. Sin embargo, existen algunos factores que se pueden vincular a la aparici\u00f3n de un TCA en la pr\u00e1ctica deportiva que pueden conducir al desarrollo de la misma, mencionados en el art\u00edculo de <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tcasevilla.com\/archivos\/enfoque_nutricional_en_la_triada_de_la_atleta_1.pdf\">Pablo L\u00f3pez (2011)<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>&#8211; Personalidad del deportista.&nbsp;<\/li><li>&#8211; Insatisfacci\u00f3n corporal debida a las presiones a las que est\u00e1n sometidas en cuanto a la alimentaci\u00f3n y\/o al peso por motivos de rendimiento deportivo.&nbsp;<\/li><li>&#8211; Especializaci\u00f3n deportiva precoz.&nbsp;<\/li><li>&#8211; Existencia de deportes y modalidades de riesgo (como se mencionan a continuaci\u00f3n). <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>&#8211; Deportes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Donde se otorga un <strong>puntaje subjetivo<\/strong> al rendimiento (danza, patinaje art\u00edstico, clavadismo, gimnasia, aer\u00f3bicos).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; De<strong> resistencia <\/strong>en los cuales se resalta el peso corporal bajo (carreras de larga distancia, ciclismo, esqu\u00ed campo a trav\u00e9s).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; En los que se requiera para la competencia de <strong>ropa que revele la silueta<\/strong>. (Voleibol, nataci\u00f3n, clavadismo, carreras campo a trav\u00e9s, esqu\u00ed campo a trav\u00e9s o de pista, porristas, etc.).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; En donde se utilicen <strong>categor\u00edas de peso<\/strong> para la participaci\u00f3n (carreras de caballos, algunas artes marciales, lucha libre, remo).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; En los que se resalta la <strong>condici\u00f3n del cuerpo pre-p\u00faber<\/strong> para el \u00e9xito en el rendimiento (patinaje art\u00edstico, gimnasia, clavadismo).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>&#8211; Aumento del volumen de actividad f\u00edsica acompa\u00f1ado de restricciones alimentarias.&nbsp;<\/li><li>&#8211; Utilizaci\u00f3n habitual de otros m\u00e9todos poco saludables para la p\u00e9rdida de peso como:&nbsp;<ul><li><em>\u2014 M\u00e9todos t\u00e9rmicos: saunas, vestimentas de pl\u00e1stico<\/em><\/li><li><em>\u2014 Toma de laxantes y diur\u00e9ticos<\/em><\/li><li><em>\u2014 V\u00f3mitos provocados y autoinducidos<\/em><\/li><li><em>\u2014 Ayuno prolongado&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em>\u2014 Restricci\u00f3n de fluidos&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em>\u2014 P\u00edldoras adelgazantes<\/em><\/li><li><em>\u2014 Ejercicio f\u00edsico excesivo y\/o extenuante&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>&#8211; Acontecimientos traum\u00e1ticos para el deportista.&nbsp;<\/li><li>&#8211; Comentarios despectivos.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"986\" src=\"https:\/\/journey.app\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Tri\u0301ada-de-la-atleta-femenina_uniforme-voleibol.jpg\" alt=\"Los uniformes ce\u00f1idos como los de voleibol pueden desencadenar la  tr\u00edada de la atleta femenina.\" class=\"wp-image-4936\" srcset=\"https:\/\/journey.app\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Tri\u0301ada-de-la-atleta-femenina_uniforme-voleibol.jpg 900w, https:\/\/journey.app\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Tri\u0301ada-de-la-atleta-femenina_uniforme-voleibol-274x300.jpg 274w, https:\/\/journey.app\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Tri\u0301ada-de-la-atleta-femenina_uniforme-voleibol-768x841.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>La fisiopatolog\u00eda<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>El s\u00edndrome comienza con una baja disponibilidad de energ\u00eda, que muchas veces est\u00e1 relacionada con trastornos de la conducta alimentaria. Con la deficiencia de energ\u00eda prolongada, se altera el eje gonadotropo de la mujer provocando trastornos menstruales e hipoestrogenismo. La persona que lo padece muestra <strong>fuerte preocupaci\u00f3n en relaci\u00f3n con el peso, imagen corporal y la alimentaci\u00f3n.<\/strong> Para definir los trastornos alimentarios nos basaremos en el <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dsm.psychiatryonline.org\/pb-assets\/dsm\/update\/Spanish_DSM5Update2016.pdf\">DSM V,<\/a><\/strong> que es la versi\u00f3n m\u00e1s nueva del Manual de Diagn\u00f3stico y Estad\u00edstico de Trastornos Mentales.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actualmente se conceptualizan los TCA como multideterminados. Esto implica que existen <strong>factores predisponentes, factores desencadenantes y factores de mantenimiento. <\/strong>Estos tres factores se combinan entre s\u00ed y de su interacci\u00f3n surgen los TCA. Esta combinaci\u00f3n depende de cada paciente, por lo que es necesario explorar con cada uno c\u00f3mo es que lleg\u00f3 a armar su TCA y qu\u00e9 es lo que lo mantiene.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Factores-de-los-TCA\">Factores de los TCA<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Se entiende por <strong>factores predisponentes<\/strong> los siguientes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>&#8211; Factores socioculturales (cultura de la delgadez, ideal de belleza, etc.)<\/li><li>&#8211; Individuales (autoestima baja, autoexigencia, perfeccionismo, autocontrol, etc.)<\/li><li>&#8211; Biol\u00f3gicos (herencia, peso.)<\/li><li>&#8211; Estresores (abuso sexual infantil, divorcio parental, accidente, mudanza, etc.)<\/li><li>&#8211; Dietas\/pr\u00e1cticas de control de peso.<\/li><li>&#8211; Situaciones t\u00edpicas del ciclo vital (p\u00e9rdida de abuelos, salida, fiestas, etc.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Una vez que se manifiesta el TCA, el principal <strong>factor de mantenimiento<\/strong> es el circuito que se genera entre restricci\u00f3n-atrac\u00f3n-v\u00f3mito. Comportamientos compensatorios inapropiados recurrentes para evitar el aumento de peso (<strong>v\u00f3mito autoprovocado, uso de laxantes, ayuno o ejercicio excesivo<\/strong>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los atracones y conductas compensatorias se producen al menos <strong>una vez a la semana durante tres meses.<\/strong> Generalmente los pacientes tienen un <strong>peso normal o sobrepeso<\/strong>, su autoestima suele estar muy relacionada con la figura y refieren miedo intenso a aumentar de peso y deseos a adelgazar.
